Experimental Design in Agriculture
Our Stage 5 Agriculture classes have been learning about experimental design over recent weeks, with a focus on the establishment of dual-purpose grazing crops suitable to local conditions.
Students have been tasked with independently designing and implementing seed trials for dual purpose cropping, specifically utilising Yarran and Eurabbie oats and Kittyhawk wheat varieties.
The group was fortunate to be visited by Mr Glenn Shepherd from IMAG Consulting who took the group through a masterclass of scientific principles. The talk focused on practical issues that may be encountered in agricultural trials, and how best to overcome these in the field.
Stage 5 Macquarie Agriculture is very grateful to Glenn for giving his valuable time and insight to the group.
