Living off the Land
Throughout Term 3, our Stage 3 students participated in a Science program called 'Living off the Land'.
Students learned about the difference between natural and man-made fibres, mass farming practices and their impact on the environment as well as the paddock to plate process for foods such as chocolate, orange juice and honey.
As the term drew to a close, we were fortunate to hold a Living off the Land Conference where we invited members of our Macquarie and Agricultural community to school. The conference was extremely insightful and gave students the opportunity to gain further knowledge around agricultural practices.
Stage 3 would like to thank Mr Fergus Job (Toongi Pastoral Co.), Mr Angus Kelly (Marocara) and Mr Terry Mitchell (Fletcher’s International) for visiting and sharing their valuable knowledge with us.
