Teaching and Learning Blog – Resourceful
Acting Head of Teaching and Learning – Mrs Lynne Fleming
The Teaching and Learning Framework at Macquarie is a shared set of concepts and practices that guide our work with students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.
The 4Rs of our Teaching and Learning Framework and their 'buttons' (Resourceful, Relational, Resilient and Reflective) are learning dispositions (or behaviours and attitudes) that research has associated with powerful learning.
Our work with the Teaching and Learning Framework continues, this year additionally apparent in classroom magnet sets. Each magnet set 'teases out' the elements of each Learning Disposition. Teachers, through the magnets, explicitly link lesson activities to elements of learning dispositions.
Resourceful - being ready, willing and able to learn in different ways.
Planning - using your logic skills to map out a path, suitable timing and resources, and use your imagination.
Questioning - asking questions of yourself and others in a curious way in order to expand learning.
Making Connections - seeing connections and patterns in learning experiences and weaving them together to make sense of new learning.
