Year 7 Famous Scientists Symposium
Our Year 7 students' first high school assignment was a research task on a famous scientist.
Students investigated the achievements, discoveries and contributions of a wide range of scientists throughout history. The reports were written and submitted and then all of Year 7 gathered in Henderson Hall for the Famous Scientists Symposium!
Students attended with an object or outfit that represented the famous scientist they researched. They interviewed three other ‘scientists’ to learn more about other scientists' achievements, discoveries and contributions.
Famous scientists represented on the day included distinguished names like Albert Einstein, Dr Fiona Wood, Marie Curie, Galileo Galilei, Louis Paster, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, William Herschel, Dr Victor Chang, Andy Thomas, Thomas Edison, Alfred Nobel, Dr Fred Hollows, Sister Elizabeth Kenny and David Unaipon to name a few. To conclude the symposium scientists mingled over some morning tea.
Congratulations to all Year 7 students for completing their first high school assignment and participating in the Famous Scientist Symposium with such enthusiasm and creativity!
